The Rhythm Hut is very proud to be welcoming back Luna Grand (formerly Uncle Jed) to The Central Coast.

Embarking on their first ever tour as Luna Grand to celebrate their single release "Chase The World".

Sydney band formally known as Uncle Jed are itching to hit the road and show everyone their new creations as well as some favourites from their latest EP "Patience Love"

ABOUT LUNA GRAND
Luna Grand are soulful musicians first and foremost. The trio’s pedigree is untouchable, their kinship enviable and their success as assured as it is self-directed.

“Uncle Jed was fun but we’ve had a wealth of experiences between now and then. People don’t like change but artistically we felt we had to.”

Luna Grand cite each other and their families as major influences, they mention contemporaries from Metal to James Blake, Cat Empire, Fat Freddies Drop and Katie Noonan, with a nod to a diverse smattering of Jazz, Funk, Soul and Reggae greats. Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder.

Their multi-dimensional authenticity means Luna Grand can write personally with a truth that translates universally. And like all great technicians they make art look easy, which it most definitely is not. There’s is both an innate and practised skill and it’s a beautiful evolution to behold on their new EP. The name change becomes perfunctory in light of their soulful progress.

Luna Grand, the refined and sublime overspill of musical sensibility, of quality, integrity, connection and enjoyment with a purity of purpose that makes them a delight to watch, to listen to, and to observe as they continue to grow.

Supporting Luna Grand on the night is Sydney artist Willowy.

Willowy encompasses the musical nature of 22 year old singer/songwriter Brittany Green. This creative aspect of her personality delves into the darker issues of life, much like the Celtic legend of the Willow tree and its ability to draw deep emotions to the surface.

The Willow tree has soft pliant wood, slender branches that hang delicately, and tough tenacious roots. It's leaves hang in delicate fronds that bely the tree's ability to thrive in harsh conditions. Willowy is much the same. The roots of her music sink/nourish themselves in the storytelling folk artists of old such as Bob Dylan and new like Laura Marling. Whilst there is a softness to the music, its essence explores the darkness in the depths of life and the contradictions it pulls from all of us.
