Doctor Issues Public Challenge to Dairy Australia
Dr Michael Klaper has challenged Dairy Australia to a public debate to defend their marketing claim that 'milk is healthy'. Join us next Tuesday to see if Dairy Australia shows up to face the truth, or if they continue to hide behind their marketing machine.
ANIMAL LIBERATION VICTORIA PRESENTS
An evening with Dr Michael Klaper and Cowspiracy screening
JOIN US for a very special discussion and Q&A with Dr Michael Klaper, a gifted and internationally renowned clinician of more than 40 years who is a source of inspiration for millions, advocating plant-based diets and the end of animal cruelty.
The evening will commence with the premiere of ALV’s new clip Now You Know Me. ALV founder Patty Mark and social justice advocate Phil Wollen will introduce Dr Klaper, followed by a screening of Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret.
On this very special evening Dr Klaper will share with us his food philosophy and extensive knowledge on optimum health. Dr Klaper is a gifted clinician, internationally recognised teacher, and sought-after speaker on diet and health. He has practiced medicine for more than 40 years, and is a leading educator in applied plant-based nutrition and integrative medicine. Dr Klaper is also the author of a successful book on cholesterol-free nutrition, as well as numerous health videos.
After his presentation will be a screening of Cowspiracy, the highly acclaimed film Dr Klaper himself features in. Dr Klaper is widely quoted for his comments about dairy in the film, saying: “The purpose of cow’s milk is to turn a 65-pound calf into a 700-pound cow as rapidly as possible. Cow’s milk is baby calf growth fluid.”
Cowspiracy is a ground-breaking feature-length environmental documentary following intrepid filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today – and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organisations are too afraid to talk about it.
Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation, water consumption and pollution, is responsible for more greenhouse gases than the transportation industry, and is a primary driver of rainforest destruction, species extinction, habitat loss, topsoil erosion, ocean “dead zones,” and virtually every other environmental ill. Yet it goes on, almost entirely unchallenged.
As Andersen approaches leaders in the environmental movement, he increasingly uncovers what appears to be an intentional refusal to discuss the issue of animal agriculture, while industry whistle-blowers and watchdogs warn him of the risks to his freedom and even his life if he dares to persist.
This event at the magnificent Astor Theatre will also feature the launch of ALV’s clip Now You Know Me coming soon to a theatre near you, a sneak peek at the new soon to be released documentary What The Health - The Health Film that Health Organizations Don't Want You to See! and share recent undercover investigations into Australia’s violent and destructive slaughterhouses.
