Meet at the Armidale Visitors Information Centre (Marsh St, next to BP Service Station) at 8:45 am for a 9 am sharp departure, to travel by bus.

At our first stop, we meet with Lucy and Graham Emmery who will share their regenerative farming experience as people new to the land and to the New England region.

At our second stop, we walk and talk with Lachie and Heather McPhie.  We will hear about the regenerative techniques they have used to build a resilient, productive farming enterprise that is both profitable and personally rewarding.

Joining our conversation are:

  • Dr Maarten Stapper of BioLogic Agfood (http://www.drmaartenstapper.com.au/), who will be on hand to provide answers to questions regarding the science that underpins the regenerative practices used to restore a balance in soil health and fertility that produces nutrient dense food.
  • Mr Jason Simmons of Overseer Agriculture (https://www.theoverseersaddlery.com.au/overseer-agriculture.php) who takes a holistic approach to managing soil, pasture and livestock. Jason is an Agricultural Consultant to the McPhie and Emmery families.

The bus will return to the Visitor Information Centre by 1 pm, and for those who would like to linger, a second bus will return by 2.30 pm.

Please note: For those who think they need more than water and a piece of fruit, please feel free to BYO food.  Need to wear sturdy walking shoes and hat.

This event is an opportunity to kick-start a regenerative farming group - a peer supported network of like-minded people interested in sharing knowledge and resources and building skills to further their farming enterprises.
