Macquarie College welcomes the return of Dr Sally Hunt, PhD as host of a second parent event during Mental Health Month.

While these informative talks are prepared in the first instance for parents of Junior School students, all parents are welcome. This presentation is one of many events planned by Macquarie College to actively involve the community in positive discussions about mental health and supporting others. Sally will speak with parents on two topics.

Firstly, “Should I Be Worried About This?”.  Parents walk a tightrope between helping kids when they need it, and providing resilience building opportunities by letting them solve problems themselves. Sally will share some strategies for parents to evaluate which side of the line your child is on, and knowing when and how to seek extra support.

Secondly, Sally will speak to “Managing Challenging Behaviours at Home”, creating harmonious parent-child relationships through communication and evidence-based behavior management. See how clinical psychologists identify cause and effect in families, and learn how they encourage change in the home.

Light refreshments will be served during the event.
