Sydney, immerse yourself in Ensemble Offspring’s weekend festival of new sounds from around the world – an expedition of invention from Berlin to Sydney and New York to Perth.
Make a racket, interface with our artists and experience the world of living music; sinuous, sculptural and sizzling sounds.
Featuring chamber music by locals and icons: Boulez, Bradbury, Coelho, Feldman, Harrison, Mantovani, Pozniak, Reidy, Romitelli, Skipworth, Waller and Xenakis.
Industry Discussion Panel: New music in Australia - connections across the globe.
The idea of an Australian “voice” is often a theme in discussing new music, but how does this work in an increasingly global world? Leading artists working in Australia and overseas talk about their experiences as international artists, and the importance of creating a global context for their work.
Industry Speed Dating: Your chance to meet one-on-one with new music leaders and emerging voices to pick their brains for the inside tips to make your next project, or the next stage of your career, a success. Sessions are free, but festival pass holders will get first pick! Book your ticket online, and we'll send you a special sign-up link to pick your "date" and time. There are only four 15-minute dates available with each leader. Choose from: Marcus Whale (multi-genre artist), Caitlin Yeo (film composer), Peggy Polias (Making Waves Podcast/composer), John Davis (CEO Australian Music Centre) and Cameron Lam (Art Music Specialist APRA AMCOS, composer).
Kontiki Racket is supported by the City of Sydney.
