What is LAMP?Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) is a therapeutic approach based on neurological and motor learning principles. The goal is to provide individuals a method of independently and spontaneously expressing themselves in any setting. The LAMP approach can be used with both Unity® & Words for Life.
Who can attend?
This event is targeted at professionals working with people who use AAC. However, it is appropriate for anyone who is keenly interested in learning more about LAMP, or who is already using the LAMP approach. Attendees may be parents, carers, therapists, educators, education support, or university students who have some knowledge of AAC.
Why attend?

The aim of this workshop is to educate attendees in the principles of LAMP and its application with various AAC systems, so that they feel confident to implement the LAMP approach in their daily practice. 

Following information will be covered:

- LAMP theory and evidence base

- the 5 components of LAMP (readiness to learn, natural consequences, auditory signals, consistent and unique motor patterns, shared focus)

- practical application of the technique

- review foundations of minspeak and LAMP WFL vocabulary 

- understanding and navigating the language systems

- Tools for implementation

- Assessment, ongoing data collection & evaluation
