Understanding and supporting children with anxiety

You are invited to participate in an informative workshop on understanding and supporting children with anxiety.

Recent events have been a source of worry and uncertainty for us all. When we understand anxiety and ways to manage it, we are in the position to connect and support a child feeling overwhelmed by anxiety. This workshop will explore:

  • ·The child in context
  • ·Physiology of anxiety
  • ·Definitions of anxiety
  • ·Anxiety diagnosis
  • ·Anxiety at school
  • ·Skills, tools, and strategies to manage anxiety. 

Your trainer

Rebecca Ryan is a local registered psychologist who works primarily with children and people with diagnosis. Rebecca studied in Canberra and previously worked as the Manager and Senior Disability Advisor at the Australian National University and as a National Disability Coordination Officer for the Australian Government. Prior to that Rebecca worked with the state government and provided psychology services to eligible clients.

This training opportunity is funded through Communities for Children and is facilitated by Mission Australia with the support of Mid Coast 4 Kids.
