Following three packed shows at Byron Blues Fest in 2016, one of reggae's rising stars MIKE LOVE returns to the Shire for an all ages show in Mullumbimby, performing with his percussionist Sam Ites and supported by our very own favourite BOBBY ALU (duo).

Born and raised in Oahu, Hawaii to a musical family that spans generations, Mike brings a multitude of influences to the table, all tied together by the common goal of making the world a better place. He draws on a multitude of influences, including reggae, folk, blues, flamenco, jazz and R&B to create a style uniquely his own. Mike's live show uses a fair share of technology, including live looping, effects pedals and a hybrid acoustic/electric drum kit (played by drummer, Sam Ites) but remains organic and real. Nothing is pre-recorded - everything is performed and recorded on the spot, which keeps longtime fans returning, as the show constantly evolves.

Mike has shared the stage with artists like Michael Franti, Trevor Hall, Nahko & Medicine For The People, Xavier Rudd, Rebelution, John Butler Trio, Groundation, Steel Pulse, Dave Matthews and Jack Johnson.

Joining Mike for the evening, award-winning BOBBY ALU tells his stories through rhythm, voice and ukulele, on his taylor made island drum kit. Another truly unique performance, offering a fresh sound powered by Pacific beats, catchy songs and powerful log drumming, with hints of soul and reggae. Bobby will be joined by bass player Paulie Bromley (George, The Beautiful Girls).

Delicious food will be provided by Open Table.

This is going to be a very special evening for all the family, not to be missed!
