Move in your own way - a live music and movement experiment

A Soft Sunday invitation to move in connection with ourselves. Bring a song that makes you move. Play around! Feel into your own ways of moving with live improvised music.

Jessica Kejun Xu is a musician, researcher, and emerging artist hoping to make community around care, chronic illness, and creativity. With a background in classical western flute, Jess is reconnecting with themselves through movement, poetry, and musical improvising. In her internship with Accessible Arts, mentored by Liz Lea, Jess is experimenting with how playing music and moving in her own way offers connection with intuition, decompression from chronic pain, and emotional release.

Come to the zoom room with some space to move around comfortably. Bring a song that makes you move, with speakers or headphones so you can play the song in your space. Please also join in with anything that might support you to move and rest as you need - this could be a pillow, chair, mat, couch or bed nearby..
