Enrol in this hands-on resin class and make an attractive marbled resin cheese board for weekend entertaining or to give as a gift to family and friends. You'll be the "host with the most" when you serve cheese or antipasto on this personalised serving board. It will make a valuable addition to your weekend entertaining and is a great conversation starter. Your guests will be impressed when you tell them you made it yourself! Before starting on your cheeseboard and coaster set, you'll also get to make a mini cheeseboard to practice the resin art techniques you learn in the workshop.

What's covered in the course:

In this 2.5 hour workshop, you'll be working with a slow curing epoxy resin. We'll cover:

• safety and preparation tips
• discuss the types of resin that are suitable for food contact
• how to measure, mix, colour and pour resin
• how to create resin art techniques such as marbling through the resin as well as how to create lace effects
• how to finish the pieces professionally; and
• how to look after your new serving ware.

What you'll make:

You'll make a 3 piece set: a cheese board and 2 coasters. You'll also make a mini cheese board. Your serving ware set will take 24 hours to cure and will be ready for collection the next day.

What instruction you'll receive:

You'll learn how to marble the resin and also how to create the lace effect. You'll be using a slow curing epoxy, giving you time to achieve the effects in the resin. Classes are limited in size and are structured so you'll receive individual attention. You will leave the workshop confident that you can produce additional pieces at home.

What to bring/wear:

• A long-sleeved shirt. 
• Wear old clothes that you wouldn't mind getting resin on.
• Glasses, if needed for close up work.
• Long hair tied back.

Everything else is provided.

Additional Information:

Pieces poured with slow curing resin will take 24 hours to cure and will need to be collected after the workshop. If this is not convenient, arrangements can be made to post them to you.

Option 2 - $260

2.5 hour workshop including kit valued at approximately $120 which is yours to keep so you can keep pouring at home.

This option is ideal for anyone wanting to make resin cheeseboards to sell or give as gifts. Kit includes the supplies you need to continue making your own resin cheese boards at home including epoxy resin, pigments and resin dye. The kit includes:

• 1 litre epoxy resin
• 3 resin colourants to tint the resin
• all safety equipment
• mixing cups and stirrers
• comprehensive class notes

The resin kit contains sufficient resin to create several more pieces at home.
