The Southern Sisters queens have performed across Australia and some, the World, but they are venturing into the Barossa Valley as a troupe for the first time this coming February (Saturday 24th) for a night at The Nuriootpa Soldiers Memorial Hall.

Troupe coordinator, Andrew B has worldly experience in the entertainment industry that has lead him to be named “The famed Kristina International” (SA Life). He has been a feature performer in show seasons at The MGM, Macau and for Brunei royalty! In recent years he has toured independently with a couple of suitcases full of drag to perform at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe (the largest arts festival in the world) and spent a month in Paris last year. He lived like a local and immersed himself in the celebrated cabaret culture.

The Southern Sisters is composed of some of Adelaide’s most favourite, fabulous, fierce and friendly queens, all having delighted audiences in drag for a decade and over! Taking to the stage in Nuriootpa alongside Kristina will be “drag artiste extraordinaire” (The Advertiser) and cabaret queen, Miss Molly; Cherry Poppins, who is well known as one of the resident drag queens at The Mars Bar throughout it’s final years; special guest to the Southern Sisters troupe, Michael Jaxon Carson, Adelaide’s premier Michael Jackson impersonator; and larger than life Mistress of Ceremonies, Rita Demore’e. And there’ll be plenty of surprises on the night!

Each of the Southern Sisters is set to bring what they do best with copious glamour and comedy, dance and drama! The show will be composed of a couple of iconic solo acts each, some camp duets and acts coming altogether as a group, all linked by Rita’s innate charm and wit and some audience participation and prizes to be won as something extra to look forward to.

The Southern Sisters rocked The Victor Harbor Town Hall earlier this month at their 6th Annual SeaQueens drag spectacular and they’re bringing Victor Harbors’ lighting and sound technician Roxy up to Nuriootpa to help give the night that extra magic.

Doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30 till 10pm show. The event is alcohol free, but with the hall being situated on the main street there are numerous places to enjoy a drink before the show and during the intermission.
